ELMWOOD CHOIRS
For decades, the Sanctuary Choir has been the trademark program of Elmwood United Presbyterian Church. This adult choir ministers for weekly worship services every 1st, 2nd, and some 3rd Sundays. Open to all who desire to worship the Lord through song regardless of experience. Rehearsals take place one night per week for approximately one hour. MEN'S CHORUS ministers for Father's Day, Men's Day and several other times throughout the year. Open to men of all ages, this choir rehearses as needed for ministry opportunities. RUACH WOMEN'S CHOIR welcomes all who desire sisterhood through song. This group ministers for Mother's Day, Women's Day and as requested throughout the year. At times, the choir might be called upon to represent the church at church and community events. Rehearsal schedule and times vary based on the ministry need. ELMWOOD'S CHILDREN'S CHOIR (ages 3-11) and Youth Choir (ages 12-18) are open to young people in both Elmwood and the surrounding community. A joint ministry effort with both the Music & Worship Arts and Youth Ministries, both choirs minister for worship on 3rd Sundays and for special services such as World Youth Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas services. Open to singers 65 and older, the SENIOR CHOIR ministers every 5th Sunday and for Elder Appreciation Sunday in November. This choir sings a wide variety of repertoire, with an emphasis on hymns and classic songs of the church. Rehearsals take place Saturday mornings from 10:30AM-12:00PM as needed. The ensemble seeks to engage the seasoned members of Elmwood and provide them a musical outlet to express their faith and commune with others.

Psalm 29:2 says, "Give unto the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness." The ELMWOOD CONCERT SINGERS is a concert ensemble open to members of the community. Rehearsals take place on Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in preparation for annual concerts at Elmwood, the surrounding communities and the tri-state area. Singers explore music from various time periods and strive for the highest level of musical performance. Annual performances include Händel's Messiah and notable engagements include performing the Faure Requiem, Robert Ray Gospel Mass, a radio broadcast at Princeton Theological Seminary and a concert at the historic Playhouse at Rodney Square in Wilmington, Delaware.

ELMWOOD'S DANCE MINISTRY
Liturgical dance is a type of dance movement sometimes incorporated into liturgies or worship services as an expression of worship.
ORDERED IN HIS WORD LITURGICAL DANCE MINISTRY MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of Ordered In His Word Liturgical Dance Ministry (LDM) is to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ through liturgical dance and pageantry. MINISTRY OBJECTIVES: Enhance the worship experience; fully utilize the gifts and talents of its members; provide sound Biblical theology in both power and practice; work in collaboration with other church ministries and civic organizations; and minister at nursing homes, street ministry events, community centers, etc. REHEARSAL TIME: Tuesdays 6:30 – 8:30 pm Elmwood Sanctuary MINISTRY DATES: Every other 4th Sunday and Special Services. |
