Rev. Burkins served as the Senior Pastor of Elmwood for 28 years before retiring in 2015. Under his visionary leadership, Elmwood grew to become the largest African-American church in the Presbyterian Church, USA. Rev. Burkins' was a great man of God who touched the lives of so many through his teaching, preaching and mentorship.
