introducing the 2021 annual giving pledge
As we look back on 2020, we all can be grateful for how God worked with and through us during this difficult, unprecedented year to remain a place of help, hope and home for our congregation and our community. Indeed, your gifts of time, talent, creativity, and financial support enabled Elmwood to worship, serve and care for one another in new and meaningful ways -- in spite of the challenges we faced.
Moving forward into 2021, we are mindful that continued uncertainties require us to take prudent steps to manage our finances in the most responsible way possible. One of these steps is the introduction of the 2021 Giving Pledge.
Through the 2021 Giving Pledge, we simply ask you to provide us with an estimate of how much you intend to give to the Church this year in support of Elmwood’s general operating budget and the Rooted & Reaching building projects. The Pledge is not in addition to your regular giving. Rather, when you make a pledge, you enable us to better plan and manage our finances and, in turn, strengthen the life, ministries and mission of our church.
We hope each member will prayerfully consider pledging at a level of generosity that flows from the outpouring of God’s grace, mercy and blessings in their life. Some members may choose to tithe, by giving 10% of their income to the Church. Others may give a different percentage, and still others will give as they are able. Regardless of the amount, every pledge makes a difference.
Read the enclosed Frequently Asked Questions for more pledge details, review the attached Suggested Offering Chart, and use the link below to complete the online Pledge Form. As you are able, please submit your pledge by January 31, 2021. If you have any questions about making a financial pledge to Elmwood, do not hesitate to contact the Church office at 973-678-0055.
We are sincerely grateful for all you do to enable Elmwood to be the church we so urgently need today. With your continued support, we can and will engage, equip and empower believers across our congregation, community and the world.
Peace and Blessings,
Elmwood Stewardship Committee:
Ruling Debbra Smith, Chairperson
Ruling Elder Roxanne Burrus
Ruling Elder Beverly Douglas
Ruling Elder Toni Green
Rev. Maria Crompton, Senior Pastor
